The Geochemical and Environmental Characteristics of Trace Metals in Coastal Sediment Discharge off the Mailiao Industrial Zone of Central Western Taiwan

The geochemical fractions of trace metals in the coastal sediments central western Taiwan were examined, employing Tessier sequential extraction method, and contamination status analyzed also evaluated present study. Based on metal fraction sediments, can be divided into three groups: (1) Al, Cr, Fe, Ni Zn; (2) Cu Pb (3) Mn. In group metal, metals’ total concentrations chiefly dominated by residual fraction, exceeding 80% concentration pool. labile fractions, carbonate, Fe-Mn oxides organic, accounting for nearly 65% pool, contributed 35% concentrations.
